| Jaguar XK wins 'Car of the Year' and 'Best Coupe' awards
The XK Coupe also topped all cars in its category as the 'Best Coupe', out-beating competitors in the BMW 6 Series and the Porsche 911. The launch of the new XK earlier this year marked the beginning of an exciting era for Jaguar in terms of design and engineering which further extenuates the brand's reputation for building beautiful, fast cars that are thrilling to drive and gorgeous to look at. This award is yet another feather in Jaguar's cap as the new XK was awarded the 'Most exciting car to be launched in 2006' awarded by What Car? Magazine, the 'Engineering and Technology Award' at the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards and the 'World Traffic Safety Symposium's Traffic Safety Achievement' Award in the Automaker category. It has been recognized for an all-new industry-leading feature - the pedestrian deployable bonnet which is designed to help mitigate the severity of injuries to pedestrians in the event of a collision with a car.

COLUMNIST: Ex-Lions coordinator Mike Martz a 'dubious' hire for 49ers
That's what the upcoming 49ers season will be like. It is hard to say whether Nolan or Martz will play the role of Hooterville mayor. But we are bound to witness some comical cultural head-butting between them. Let's review these two main characters, shall we? Nolan is the endorphin-soaked defensive guy who views every football game in terms of field position and grunting. His favorite 49ers offensive play last season, no joke, was an onside kick. And Martz? He is full of passphetamine - a hormone I just invented - and is aggressively offensive. He throws as many wild X's and O's onto the field as possible, to see which of them stick. Then he throws some more. Anyone else sense a possible conflict brewing? In an ideal world, Nolan would control the defense and Martz could coach the offense to create a better 49ers universe on both sides of the ball.
Dialogues aim to foster healing within church
It worked in post-apartheid South Africa. It works for thousands of couples in bitter divorces. Can structured mediation and conflict resolution work to reconcile disaffected Catholics with the Catholic church? A group is trying it in Boston. Last year, in Boston -- the city that was at the epicenter of the clergy sexual abuse scandal and its cover-up by the Catholic hierarchy -- the Paulist Center began a campaign to foster reconciliation between aggrieved Catholics and the Boston archdiocese. Last fall, Catholics and former Catholics sat down with Richard Erikson, the archdioceses vicar general. They told their stories and attempted to arrive at understanding, not as enemies, but as fellow Christians. On Jan. 25, at their national conference, the Paulist Fathers -- an order of Catholic priests founded in 1858 as missionaries to North America -- will decide whether to expand the ministry to their 14 Paulist centers around the country.

Ann Coulter Speaks At CPAC
Ann Coulter wasn't invited to CPAC this year but she came to CPAC anyway and gave a speech just down the hallway from the ballroom where John McCain spoke Thursday. The speech was only open to 1000 attendees but you can watch it here on Townhall.com. I guess we'll name this speech, "Ann Coulter's 2008 not-at-CPAC-CPAC speech." .
Challenger in 2001, titleholder in 2003 ...
In the best-of-seven series, Takao took a 3-0 lead, meaning that he needed only one more win. Cho managed to win the fourth game to stay alive. The opening of the fifth game was bizarre, but despite his bad start, Takao took home the title and 32 million yen. Let's have a look at the opening of this decisive game. Cho is black. Diagram 1: Up to 9, everything is normal. White 10 is the first difficult decision. Instead of this move, he could have cut at 12 immediately. After 14, black 15 is a good move as it is an extension from his corner enclosure (shimari) at top right, preventing a white extension there. White 16 performs the same function. Black 17 is an attempt to sow panic. However, White responds calmly with 18. Black has little choice but to play at 19. The next move, white 20, seems strange and unprofessional.
Transfer deadline day: 9am-1.30pm
1.30pm: Algerian international defender, Abderaouf Zarabi has just signed for Hibs from French side Gueugnon, according to Euan Barker and top sources Mr SSN Ticker. Benjani has just yelped in fear after Daruis Vassell offered to help him with his finishing. 1.27pm: Newcastle are on the verge of meltdo... signing Atalanta's teenage striker Fabio Zamblera. "Scarlett Johansson has been seen discussing terms with Ronnie Moore about a possible move to Prenton Park," drools Robert Brown. "Personally, I can't see it happening now that they've got Jennison Myrie-Williams until the end of the season, but you can't afford to take that risk, so best get the picture up now, eh?" Nope, Johansson is a Rochdale fan, it's the only club up that way she'd sign for. .

A site that usually hosts annual Christmas tree sales will soon be home to four-story office buildings and upscale apartments. An effort to add high-density living to the retail-heavy Fiesta District got a boost Thursday with the approval of plans to build upscale apartments and offices in west Mesa. The project is called Southern Plaza and California developer Ed Frankel is promising it will be "top-of-the-line stuff." GRAPHIC: See plans for Southern Plaza Southern Plaza is adding to the buzz building on the corner of Southern Avenue and Alma School Road in Mesa, which also will house a boutique hotel and more than 300 condos in the next two years. Although the area is showing signs of revitalization, the path may not be entirely smooth.
