| 'Project Runway' Designers Wrestle With Spandex To Dress WWE Divas
"Project Runway" produced a fashion smackdown this week, when the six remaining designers butted heads with the divas of the WWE. At first glance, judging by the cheap stretch material, rhinestones and half-naked tan women, fans may have thought this was a repeat of the Jersey prom challenge. This time, however, the outfits were meant to push the boundaries of taste inside the world wrestling ring. Let's just say things got ugly. .
George W. Bush's presidency since 2007
His Grey Wolves henchmen worked as couriers for the Turkish mob boss Abuzer Ugurlu. At Ugurlu's behest, Catli's thugs crisscrossed the infamous smugglers' route passing through Bulgaria. Those routes were the ones favored by smugglers who reportedly carried NATO military equipment to the Middle East and returned with loads of heroin. Judge Carlo Palermo, an Italian magistrate based in Trento, discovered these smuggling operations while investigating arms-and-drug trafficking from Eastern Europe to Sicily. Judge Palermo disclosed that large quantities of sophisticated NATO weaponry -- including machine guns, Leopard tanks and U.S.-built Cobra assault helicopters -- were smuggled from Western Europe to countries in the Middle East during the 1970s and early 1980s.
Kenya rivals to rewrite constitution - govt
The former U.N. chief is due to brief the press on Friday. Opposition leader Raila Odinga accuses Kibaki's team of rigging the Dec. 27 vote while Kibaki says he won fairly. Kenyans have been calling for a new constitution since the early 1990s to replace one dating back to the eve of independence from Britain in 1963, which critics say fosters graft and tribalism because of the president's immense powers. The last attempt to pass a new constitution failed in 2005 when Kenyans rejected a government-backed draft in a referendum. OPTIMISM VS REALITY In a bid to shore up Annan's mission, U.S. President George W. Bush has asked Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to head to Kenya to tell its leaders there must be a return to democracy.
Reed, Sekulow in on Romney-as-face-of-conservatism meeting
Romney does support NCLB. He has flipped on several major issues leading one to believe even Romney doesn't know what he believes. He's flipped on abortion, gun control, education, Bush tax cuts, civil unions, etc. As far as gay marriage in MA goes, read the facts. The court told the legislature to do something and they didn't. No one told Romney to do ANYTHING. But Mitt took the initiative and changed the forms for marriage and allowed same sex partners to begin getting married and then ordered justices of the peace, etc. to abide by those state forms. Why did Romney act on his own? He was never told or forced to act but did so on his own initiative. The record IS clear. When protection of marriage counted on Romney he cowled down to liberals. Half truth on Rocky Anderson? Nope. Mitt's face is on a Anderson campaign ad still on his website.
Science More Delays in Store for Boeing's Dreamliner
The bulk of the delays are blamed on suppliers who continue to work behind schedule stalling the production of the initial Dreamliner prototype according to the Wall Street Journal. Boeing decided to outsource the production of many critical Dreamliner components to companies scattered across the globe in an effort to reduce costs and promote foreign sales. The decision is now coming back to sting Boeing as a lack of synergy between suppliers is the root cause for the program delays. According to sources close to the Dreamliner program, wiring and cockpit instrumentation hasn't even been installed into the first Dreamliner being readied for flight testing. Boeing was more diplomatic when describing the supplier issues, "The fundamental design and technologies of the 787 remain sound," said Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO and president Scott Carson.
'It's Chase or bust,' owner tells Montoya
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Chip Ganassi was careful to couch expectations on Juan Pablo Montoya last season, when the former Formula One star began his first full year in NASCAR. Now that the rookie stripe is off Montoya's bumper, the car owner is ready for results. Ganassi didn't back down Wednesday from the “Chase or bust" declaration he made late last season, insisting he expects the Colombian driver to compete for the Sprint Cup championship this year. .
'Be Kind' to Oscar nominees
But, given our YouTube culture, we thought you might be more interested in making your own Oscar-caliber flick.Taking inspiration from the movie "Be Kind Rewind," opening today (see review on page 7), we’d like to give you some ideas on how to film your version of Oscar-nominated movies.Directed by Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"), "Be Kind" tells the story of a video store clerk (Mos Def) and his friend (Jack Black) who are in crisis when they accidentally erase all the VHS tapes in the shop. Def and Black decide to make their own, 20-minute, shoe-string budget versions of audience favorites like "Ghostbusters" and "Robocop" (right). The slap-dash remakes (which feature no editing and a limited amount of props) are pretty amusing. To see clips, visit www.bekindmovie.com.Using the "Be Kind" guys’ methods, we’ll show how you can go high-brow, remaking "No Country For Old Men," "Juno," "Sweeney Todd" and "There Will Be Blood."Just remember, you can’t use trained actors, you have no budget and the movies can’t be longer than 20 minutes.

Excellent pianio playing highlights premiere of Liebermann concerto
Biegel is a generous musician, busily promoting new music and rarities. He's made popularizing this concerto his mission and -- who knows? -- after a third hearing he may convince me. About his accuracy, energy and prowess with trills, scales, cascading chords and the rest of the munitions in the pianistic armory, there can be no doubt. Also distinguishing themselves in the Liebermann were trumpeter Lynn Weeda and horn player Darrel Kincade, both of whom had several places where they were prominently exposed and where they consistently acquitted themselves marvelously. The brass had its work cut out for them in the concert finale, Aaron Copland's Symphony No. 3. Conductor Randall Fleischer did a commendable job of nuancing the voices and counterpoint in the first movement.
