| Brothers modest over Oscar triumphs
It was a special year in respect that all the movies made this year were very interesting to me personally and that's not always the case," said Joel Coen during a post-Oscar interview. "There were fantastically good movies. We just adapted a novel by a great American, Cormac McCarthy, and tried to do justice to the novel." The brothers also tried to explain their unique working methods when it came to making the film. "We've always made movies the same way," said Joel. "There's no division of labour. It's a collaborative effort from top to bottom." .

Extremely Cool Lotus Cortina
Ford's 1960s profile-raising competition program included recruiting Lotus boss Colin Chapman to give the new Cortina a sporting makeover. Chapman's brief was to develop a Group 2 competition version; Lotus would then build the 1,000 cars required for homologation. Launched in 1963, the Lotus Cortina featured the Elan's Ford-based, DOHC, 1.6-liter engine in the two-door bodyshell. Lotus Cortinas dominated saloon racing's 2-liter class, often challenging for outright honors. Works cars were driven by Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Peter Arundell, and Jackie Ickx, while Sir John Whitmore, driving an Alan Mann-entered Lotus Cortina, was European Touring Car champion in 1965. The Lotus Cortina offered here is one of the original Works racing saloons campaigned during the mid-1960s by legendary Formula One World Champion Jim Clark, while touring car champions Sir John Whitmore and Jack Sears also competed in this same car.

Almonte: ‘Responding to a Moral Crisis’
And if we had to pay the ultimate price of failure, we were to make no unnecessary sound or movement, to ensure the nobility of our intentions was undiminished. Of the three senior leaders of RAM, Batac, who was then chief of research and analysis office of the Intelligence Division of the PC/INP, was the strategist, the planner-intellectual; Kapunan the organization man, with wideranging contacts among the field commands. Honasan, baron of his class, the charismatic fighting man, was the movement's leader. Eventually, the three told me what they planned. They would ambush Gen. Roland Pattugalan, commander of the Presidential Guards, whom Marcos was touting as his next chief of staff. Since Gen. Josephus Ramas, the Army commander, also coveted the post (which Marcos's henchman, Gen.
Scarborough: MSM 'Blinded By Hatred' of Romney
A couple of more big wins for John McCain and he will represent the Republican party this fall. But as we move forward, the states that are going to be on the calendar are states where Mike Huckabee will not be as strong unless he expands dramatically past his evangelical base. What does that mean? That means Mitt Romney finally has what Mitt Romney has wanted since Iowa: a one-on-one where the conservative runs against the moderate. One other thing that Mitt Romney has: money. Now if you look at the calendar, if you look at what's coming up in the future, you don't say that this is Mitt Romney's to lose. But you sure as hell don't say he should drop out of the race. We heard that Mitt Romney should drop out of the race after Iowa, after New Hampshire, after Florida.

Drive a dream, for a limited time, with Orlando luxury-car club
For about $53,000, affluent Central Floridians can slip into the custom-fitted leather seats of a silver Saleen S7 sports car and test its reputation as one of the fastest cars on the road. But only for a year. A pricey, annual membership to Luxautica -- a new car-share club inside a renovated art gallery near the Mall at Millenia -- allows the elite access to its private collection of 20 exotic cars, including Lamborghinis, Ferraris and a Rolls-Royce. Orlando's Cary Erfurth, a partner with Island One Resorts time-share company, became the club's charter member. .
Economical Hyundai Elantra PZEV is best value in midsize class
The Elantra GLS is a relatively inexpensive, high-quality car with a base price of $13,625. Compare that with base prices for the Ford Focus ($14,705), Honda Civic ($14,810), Suzuki SX4 ($14,770) or Toyota Corolla ($15,250). It was a good drive as test drives go. The Elantra GLS PZEV proved competent on Marin County's twisting, winding roads. Its handling was sure, albeit lacking the precision that some throttle jockeys demand in everything, including minivans. But drivers mindful and accepting of the fact that the Elantra is an economy car meant to be used as an economy car will find little to complain about with this one. It is the genuine article, much as the Miwok Indians who once lived in, loved and honored this place were genuine articles, real examples of how humans, if left to the better angels of their nature, could live in peace with their environment.
